Q. How can I book my hotel reservations?
A. Please access the Travel Agency page and follow the instructions from Belvitur. Hotel reservations are available at reduced rates as part of the UNITECR 2009 agreement with Pestana Salvador Hotel.
Q. Can I bring my companion with me to UNITECR 2009?
A. We are pleased to receive accomapnying persons and we have prepared a number of surprises for them. Another feature is the Tourist Program, with a day out at Praia do Forte (included in the registration fee for accopmanying persons). Please check the Travel Agency page for more details on other available tourist attractions in Salvador (arrangements and prices are made directly with the travel agency).
Q. Is there a conference short course available?
A. Registrations are open for the short course \"Thermal shock resistance of engineered microstructures\". Prof. Victor Pandolfelli (PhD) will be the instructor. Please check the Short Course page for moe details.
Q. How can I become a sponsor of UNITECR 2009?
A. UNITECR 2009 provides a unique opportunity to network with professionals and high ranking executives of different companies and countries. The exposure of your brand name, services and products has a high potential of continuing business relations or new opportunities
Q. Do I need a visa for travelling to Brazil?
A. A visa may be required for entrance to Brazil for some nationalities due to reciprocity agreements. We suggest you contact our official travel agency through the link on our website and ask for specific information for your nationality. Visas may take some time to issue and we strongly advise you to apply for visas with adequate time before your intended date of travelling. In some cases an invitation letter might be necessary. Please contact luanda@lyrium.com.br for further details if you need an invitation letter.
Q. I am a Distinguished Life Member recognized by UNITECR. How can I make my registration?
A. Distinguished Life Members (DLM) are professionals that have been recognized by UNITECR as having advanced the ideals and promoted the ceramic technology and knowledge through their professional life. DLMs are guests of UNITECR events and therefore are exempt of registration fees. For registration details please contact luanda@lyrium.com.br
Q. How do I obtain a login and password?
A. Go to the Register tab on the top of the page. Double click on the tab and you will receive a new page. Use the form on the right side of the box Sign up in website to register your login of preference, e-mail and basic information. Create your own password and click on the Submit button. This will create basic information that allow us to manage and plan receptions and sessions in a better way for all participants. After you have your login and password, use them to upload your paer or presentation (if you are an author or presenter in one of our technical sessions) or to prepare your registration. Payment through the website (Amex or VISA) is only allowed if you have signed in.
Q. Why am I having problems when I try to pay with my international credit card?
A. We have been monitoring the errors found when paying with credit cards, because the error messages are automatically issued by the credit card operator and kept on a register list in our system. When an error message is returned for VISA cards they are usually Errors 5115 and 170. We have called VISA and they have informed us that these errors occur because the card owner is trying to authorize an international transaction. Even if the card is already an international card, the card owner must register his authorization for that kind of transaction with the bank where the card was issued. When that kind of error message appears it means that the card is not authorized for an international transaction. For that reason we have included an automatic message on the website as an aid to direct the card owner to contact his bank.
Q. Where can I find and print my receipt?
A. Receipts for your registration payment can be found and printed in the Participants Area (login and password required). In that area you will find a printer icon that will allow you to print your receipt.
